Huntington Lake 2016

This is the 2016 Hungtinton Lake Quilt Camp Gang...
Front row left to right:  Maggie Bomgren, Marilyn Peters Jennifer Ogawa
Center: Tanya Blomgen
Back Row: Dotty Warkentine, Susan Hernandez, and Vicki Poston

This is what I worked on this year. It is from the Farm Girl Book by Lori Holt.

These square all have the same focus fabric in them.  This quilt is a friendship quilt with the ladies from Mennonite Community Church and the North Fresno Mennonite Quilters.

Silly Cinderella Tanya. She wanted an apron she can flounce around in, like Cinderella. This is her first apron she made and it is so cute and flouncy.  IDK is flouncy a word.  It is to her.  I love her, she makes quilt camp sew much fun. (and no, sew is not a typo)

Vicki's Class time.  We all learned how to make these great rope bowls. Thank you Vicki for being such a patient teacher.

Crazy Bowl Hat

Marilyn's grand-daughter brought this fabric to her from Africa.

The weekend was beautiful. 70's in the day, and 40's at night.

Back to Huntington Lake, It's a Lake again!!!

Last I spoke of it Huntington lake had become a pond.  The drought has been so bad in  California that lake had almost dried up.  It was so sad to see. This last winter did bring some rain and snow, not as much as we would have liked, but much better than years past and we have a lake again.

The picture on the left is from last year and the right is this year.

MCC 2016 Quilts I donated

Above is a quilt I donated years ago for the Sale.
I designed most of the squares and paper pieced them
It was re-donated to the Sale this year by Cindy Wiens.

This Sun-Bonnet Sue Calendar girl quilt was Cindy Wiens' idea.  I, along with many of my friends, most of all Ruth Heinrichs, have a strong dislike for sun-bonnet Sue.  But these calendar girls were so cute. I embroidered the squares and handed them out to my friends for them to frame. My mom (aka Dotty Mom) put them together.

Thank you Framers...

This work truck quilt I embroidered and it was big stitched by the ladies at North Fresno Church. It was sold at the MCC sale.

Millennium Star Quilt

This is a Quilt that took years to finish. It was auctioned at the MCC sale in 2016 for $1000

Poor Little Huntington Lake (Pond)

It's been 2 years since I have been here. A lot has changed. The water level is so low. These pictures are from the same view. It is very sad. The photo of me on the left is from 2 years ago. The right and below are from today.

Somebody stop me! I need a new Diet.

These blocks are sew beautiful.  The pictures do not do them justice.   I got some metallic thread that makes them pop.

My Halloween Quilt.

My Thread. My daughter said I need an intervention.
